  1. SkillPath • Providing Professional Business Training • since 1989

  2. In the beginning... • Denise in an undated photo • Co-Founders Jerry Brown, now deceased, and Denise Dudley co-founded SkillPath Seminars in 1989, which quickly grew to become the world's largest public seminar company. Denise left SkillPath in 2000, after selling it to Graceland University, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors.

  3. The progression... • By 1992, SkillPath had grown to 50 employees. Everyone had a role in doing everything. The company was strong in entrepreneurial spirit.

  4. Who we were • We were a direct mail seminar company that also specialized in public seminars.

  5. The change... • SkillPath was sold to Graceland University in 2000. The record growth of the late 90‘s coupled with the sale was the start of a turbulent time.

  6. Turmoil at the top We needed a CEO • A headhunter was hired to find • the best of the best; that didn’t • work out very well either. A local was hired; that didn’t work out. Eventually, Robb Garr, our CEO on the public seminar side got the job.

  7. The start of wide scale change • Our business model was evolving. Customers wanted: • Deeper content that was customized to their specific industry and company. • Train the Trainer certifications and to license our content so that they can deliver it internally. • Training at their facility. • Trainers that were subject matter experts in the topic they are training and be a coach for after the training. • Training that can be delivered via webinars yet still be interactive and engaging.

  8. Giving customers what they want • Direct mail sales still work and is an important aspect of our public seminar side of the business. • The need for public seminar training is not on the same scale as it once was but is still being offered and definitely still has a place in the training industry. • Customizable content delivered on-site, with facilitated subject matter experts using experiential activities.

  9. SkillPath today offers a wide variety of customizable and off the shelf training standard solutions. • Our offerings are all available through many different formats. • Our trainers are delivering experiential learning.
