  4. gigantic • Adj.: very large, tall or bulky • A whale is a gigantic sea animal. • Name something that is gigantic.

  5. ladle • Noun: a large spoon with a long handle • The chef used a ladle to spoon the soup into bowls. • What other foods can a ladle scoop up?

  6. patterns • Noun: arrangements or designs • The quilter had to follow the patterns to sew the quilt correctly. • Where have you seen patterns?

  7. shine • Verb: to give off light • The sun began to shine through the clouds. • What is something that can shine?
