  2. Jack Kerouac, a famous and respected author, took tons of drugs and used them to inspire some of his most brilliant work. [HOOK – Surprising Statement/ FAMOUS PERSON]. However, drugs like crack and meth have made plenty of people die broke, friendless and with severe pain from health problems. Not all drugs are bad for you. Some can ruin lives while some can help make them better.[THESIS – Opinion on topic in general] It all depends on the drug and the person. Example Introduction

You can look at the handout to remind yourself what it looks like • A 20 minute written introduction in anecdotal or surprising statement style.
