At any given time, there are 20,000 children on a waiting list to receive the heart surgery in Vietnam. Heartbeat Vietnam began in December 2005, it funds life-saving heart operations for the most disadvantaged children whose families cannot afford it. • In 2009, the first cooperation between “VAA the Fund” and “Heartbeat Vietnam” was created with Ms. Ngo Thanh Van as the ambassador of the program. Without surgery, these children will die. Our target is expanding the fund raising for the kids to help them overcome the sickness, receive surgery and have a normal life. 700 precious children have been saved through the journey of 4 years with Scar Of Life.

THE SHOW LỤA (SILK),the Oratorio The oratorio Lua (silk), by Vietnamese composer Quoc Bao will be on stage in the charity event of “Scar of life 5”, on the 20th of May, 2014. It is inspired from the short novel Silk of Italian author Alessandro Baricco. Explaining why he chooses the adaptation, Bao says: “It is a short but condensed novel like Japanese haiku poems. Silk has a tragic plot and is beautiful in the way it expresses parlance as well as structure, and it also has distinctly dramatic features. Oratorio is a genre of classical music and stage and was developed thanks to Monteverdi’s devotion to 17th century Italy. In churches at that time, the oratorio was performed usually with the organ, string instrument and choirs. Unlike musicals, the soloists just sing and do not act or move as actors. The contents of all songs are inspired from the bible, so the audience can understand the plot without any explanation. The oratorio Lua draws the participants of Ai Phuong, Nam Khanh, Ho Trung Dung, Thao Trang, Thanh Loc, Nguyen Ha, Dung Dalat Band, violinist Phuc Hanh and musician Bao Chan. MC Le Do Quynh Huong is narrator.
