Content Area: Science • Grade Level: 3rd • Summary: The purpose of this instructional Powerpoint is to help the students learn the different classifications of animals and what animals go into each category. • Learning Objective: Given a mixture of different animals, the student will correctly identify the animals with their different classes (herbivore, omnivore, carnivore, or scavenger) with 90% accuracy. • Content Standard: SPI 0407.5.1 Determine how a physical or behavioral adaptation can enhance the chances of survival. • SPI 0407.5.2 Infer the possible reasons why a species became endangered or extinct. • Accomplishment: Learn the different classes of animals and the animals that go into the categories

  3. What are the different animal classes? Carnivore- An animal who eats mainly meat. Omnivore- An animal who eats both meat and plants. Herbivore- An animal who eats strictly plants. Scavenger- An animal who eats already dead life forms.
