The First Farmers • About, 10,000 years ago in Southwest Asia • People polished stones to make tools like saws & drills • Time Period is called the Neolithic Era “New Stone Age” • 10,000-5,000 years ago • Biggest change: “People learned to Farm” • Domestication-tamed plants & animals
Farming changes societies • With survival more certain • People focused on different activities (Job Specialization) • Clothing (Fibers, wool, & skins) • Permanent settlements (communities into towns) • Religious gatherings (Megaliths) • gods & goddesses Earth, air, fire, water
