Batman by Kevin, Belvedere Elem. “I used blue for the background to represent that he is heroic.I used mostly geometric shapes because he is serious. I made two faces for his two personalities.”
Beau from the book Tango, by Vanessa, Belvedere Elem. “I chose both organic and geometric shapes because he is tough but also a softy type fox. He has three faces because he has 3 different personalities.”
Darth Paper from Darth Paper Strikes Back, by Quinn, Belvedere Elem. “Yellow shows he is mischevious. Geometric shapes show that he’s aggressive. The organic shape on his head shows confusion. Lightning in his eye shows power.”
Target: I can create a portrait in the cubist style that shows my understanding of the art elements of color and shape, and that shows my understanding of character traits. ON TARGET KEEP TRYING ALMOST THERE WAY BEYOND • I used the art elements and cubism in a completely new and innovative way in my character trait portrait. • I can define and identify the art elements and cubism, and used them to focus on the character traits in my portrait. • I don’t recognize these art elements, the style of cubism, or the traits of my character. • I can explain the art elements and cubism, but I haven’t used them to show the character traits in my portrait Source: Kari Ratka, Berkshire Elem.
