  18. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design The Dashboard Designer opens in place.

  19. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Remove some Gadgets. And the tree. Click the Gadget and then click the X (remove) button. Remove the Tag Cloud too. Click the Catalog.

  20. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design … and drop it here. Add some Gadgets. Scroll the Catalog and click & drag Flex – Metrics Actual Bars (about ¼ way down)…

  21. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Resize the Gadget by clicking the resize handle Resize & add the same Gadgets. Now drag anotherFlex – Metrics Actual Bars on, and resize it.

  22. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Hold down Ctrl key, multi-click, then drag to move these Pie Gadgets… Move some Gadgets around. Close the Catalog.

  24. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Save the Dashboard. Click Design Type A Dashboard - 01 and click Save. Click Save As.

  27. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Let’s add some Gauges. But… There’s a lot of Gadgets here… Just Gaugesappear here now! Type Gauge. Hit Enter.

  28. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Now add some Gauges to the canvas. Drag three Gaugesinto the canvas. Notice how the lines turn Green when everything is aligned. Notice how the Catalog fades so you can see the canvas.

  30. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Finish up, go Live. PMF picks the defaults but you can change them for everyone using Preferences. Size it… Click Live.

  32. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Broadcast only Dimensions. Click Set. Click all the Gadgets one time. Change the dropdown to Dimensions only.

  33. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Live Broadcast. Click Live. Click a Gadget &click its Preferences ( √ ) button.

  34. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Click Preview. Select Location. Dimension filter is broadcast to all Gadgets! Select EAST

  38. PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design Go Live. Configure Broadcast & add a Broadcast Controller: Add a Utility – Measure Tree Configure Broadcast for the Pies and Lines, Metrics only.

PMF: Metrics & Dazzling Dashboards!Dashboard Design OK, so you’re already making assumptions… so… • No. • Dashboard Designer is not a Flex tool. • Any Web accessible content can be in a Gadget and thus displayed on a Dashboard. • For example: • WebFOCUS reports & charts • Web 2.0 applications • All of Flex is just one of these • OK. So let’s prove it...

Try changing properties for one of the Charts – change the Time Range to Last 25 Months… Set Broadcast to Dimensions only. Everybody gets Broadcasts ! One Metric – Performance Grid One W2 – NY Times Top Stories Two Metric – Counts of Actual RYG Bars
