Screening protocol Indian Health Board of Minneapolis SPDI Diabetes PreventionProgram 2 hrOGTTEligibility Screening Protocol Participant will check inwith front desk whereaDPP team member will meet them. Participant will haveinitial lab drawand which will included alipid panel and 2 hr OGTT. Participant will bebrought into exam room #1 whereaDPP team memberwill fill out theRegistryInput form byasking theparticipant aseries ofquestions. 9:00am participants will bebrought into Education Room 1. Once all 9:00am participants are finishedwith theirinitial lab draws and theinput form is complete, theywill beplaced in Education Room 1, and theMessageof Hope will begin. 10:00am participants will followthesameprocedure and beplacedin Education Room 2. 11:00am participants will followthesameprocedureand be placed in education Room 1. AftertheMessageofHope, theparticipants will discuss goals with DPP team members. When theparticipant’s 2hours areup,a DPP teammember will go to lab with the participant to get the final blood draw and explainto theparticipant theywill be contacted thenext daywith the results ofthe2 hrOGTT. Ifafasting glucoseis >150mg/dl, theparticipant’s chart will begiven to a physicianatIHB, and he/she will be contacted immediately. Ifa2 hr result is >300mg/dl, theparticipant’s chart will begiven to aphysician atIHB, andhe/she will be contacted immediately. The results ofthelipid panel and 2 hrOGTT will besent to theparticipanton a letterindicating normal or abnormal results. If anyresults areabnormal, theletter will recommend participants’to schedule anappointment with theirprimary physician. Iftheparticipant does not haveaprimaryphysician, he/shewill be ableto schedulean appointment with aphysicianatIHB.
