Eesti Maaülikool (EMÜ) in brief • Founded in 1848 as Tartu Veterinary School • In 1951 became Estonian Academy of Agriculture • Since 2005 bears the name Eesti Maaülikool (EMÜ),or Estonian University of Life Sciences • 5 institutions and 4,5 thousand students EMÜ is the centre of research and development in such fields as: • agriculture, • forestry, • animal science, • veterinary science, • food science, • environmentally friendly technologies, • rural life and economy.
Accreditation in EMU • From 1997 – study programme accreditation • 2009-2010 – EMU took part in a quality assurance project in Estonia • From 2011 – institutional accreditation • From 2015 – starting study groups quality assurance • With accreditation we follow the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in High Education • All the accreditations are international
