  2. Why Use PPT for Science Display? • 1. It provides a more professional look. • 2. It teaches new technology that te student may need for college or a job. • 3. It integrates technology learning with science. • 4. It will impress your administrator at skills students are learning...

  3. Disadvantages of PPT Presentation • 1. It costs – somewhere between $ 40 to $ 160. • 2. When you print the presentation, you can not make changes unless your reprint. • 3. It takes several days to get your presentation after ordering it. • 4. You can not modify the presentation if you wish to add or change anything on it….

National Rules • It is preferred that national agriscience fair participants display the results of their study utilizing a standard printed poster with dimensions of 36 inches (height) by 48 inches (width). • Posters can be created utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint™ slide format. The display should be stable and free standing on the provided table top. Each participant is responsible for providing backing for the poster.

  5. National Rules – cont. • The maximum size for a project is 48 inches wide by 30 inches deep (the distance from front to back) by 108 inches high [9 ft] (from floor to top of display, this includes the table and project).

  6. How do I make a presentation? • 1. You can go online and find a template to use OR • 2. You create a new power point slide from scratch. • 3. I took an old presentation and deleted the old material on it and put in the new material….

  7. How to make the slide? • 1. Create a power point slide. • 2. Go to ‘Design’ on the tool bar. Select page setup. • 3. Change the width and heighth to what you need – 36 in. by 48 in., 48 x 48, etc. • 4. Go to Insert on the tool bar. Select text box. You now copy from your report pictures and information and put it in a text box…

  8. Making the slide – cont. • 5. Looking at the example handout, you see that the three columns gives a good overview of the material. • 6. You will have to play with the margins and text boxes to get your desired look. • 7. The following slide was made in about in less than 10 minutes from a blank slide…

  9. 212 Conference Presentation Conclusions This is an example of how research should be done. You can see how text can be entered into a text box and used to make a poster presentation for a science project.
