  4. MGSE7.G.3 Describe the two-dimensional figures (cross sections) that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in plane sections of right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres.

  5. Unit 4 : Students will learn to draw geometric figures using rulers and protractors with emphasis on triangles. Students will explore two-dimensional cross sections of cylinders, cones, pyramids, and prisms.

  6. Draw these geometric shapes: cones cylinders pyramids spheres right rectangular prisms right rectangular pyramids right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres

  7. Draw these geometric shapes: cones cylinders pyramids spheres right rectangular pyramids right rectangular prisms right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres

  8. Learning goal #1: • Students will learn how to identify and draw three-dimensional figures; right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres.

  9. Review Geometric Shapes

  10. Students will work in small groups and practice circling a given geometric shape.

  11. Instructional Activities: • Teacher will review the basic 2D and 3D geometric shapes. • Students will practice identifying, labeling, and drawing the main geometric shapes for standard G3. • right rectangular prisms, right rectangular pyramids, cones, cylinders, and spheres • c) Students will create a graphic organizer that will focus on the main geometric shapes and the three main cross-section cuts (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal).

  12. Instructional Activities: • Students will watch a video on cross sections of • geometric shapes. • Students will also make a matching cut-out shape and vocabulary word game. • Students will take a 10 question Assessment. Math Shorts Episode 8 - Slicing Three Dimensional Figures
