  3. The Russians are known as a hospitable people. • According to old traditions, a guest always is welcomed with the symbol of life-giving food- bread and salt.

  4. The vast territory of Russia lies in the Eastern part of Europe and in the Northern part of Asia. In area, it is one of the largest countries in the world. Airlines service many cities throughout the country. A flight from Moscow to Magadan takes eight hours.

Russia is washed by twelve seas and three oceans. • The land of Russia varies from heavy forests and high peaked mountains to deep valleys. • There are various types of climate on the territory of Russia. Practically every climate in the world is represented. • Russia is a land of long rivers and deep lakes. • Russia has most of what every country would like to have- a variety of natural resources, all sorts of products and industries of every kind.

  8. Moscow is the centre of cultural and entertainment. You will never have nothing to do. It`s never boring here. You can go to the different museums, theatres, art galleries and cinemas. The city itself is very beautiful. There are always bustle and noise. The city hardly ever sleeps. And if you want nature it`ll take you about half an hour and you will forget that there is a large city near you, so peaceful is the countryside.

  9. St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. • St.Petersburg is situated on the Neva river. The modern city is important as a cultural and industrial centre and as the nation`s largest seaport. • St. Petersburg is proud of its rich architecture • St. Petersburg is a city of culture. There are a lot of theatres and concert halls. • In St. Petersburg there are many stadiums and other outdoor recreations facilities

Whatever the weather or time of year, there is always a lot to see and do in and around Novgorod. • This is a perfect place for a holiday with difference. • With so many lakes and rivers and such wild life it is little wonder that the best known holiday activities are fishing, swimming. Many visitors combine active pursuits with sightseeing by car or coach around The Gold Ring.
