  6. Teacher Venture Grants Grants will be awarded on an annual basis and will be offered to staff in both the high school and elementary school. Approximately $2,000 in Venture Grants will be given out each year ($1,000 per school). All Venture Grants are carefully looked at by our Allocations Committee and the committee tries to give approval for each grant written. Staff are encouraged to apply for a grant. Applications are available in the Superintendent’s office and are due by November 1st. Grants will be awarded by November 15th. If all the monies are not given out by November 15th, the venture grants may be reopened in January.

  7. Scholarship & Venture Grant money generated from: • ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT • In 2016, the golf tournament receipts were $7,520 and the expenditures were $4,101 with an income of $3,419. This was -$581 short from our $4,000 goal to cover 2 - $1,000 scholarships and $2,000 in venture grants. • EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTIONS • Employee quarterly annual contributions account for approximately $1,500.

  8. Venture Grants will be awarded for creative curricular programs that are written and established by the staff. Here are some suggestions for developing a project idea: • Think outside the box – propose innovative, curriculum-related projects • Coordinate efforts with other staff to think of a project that would enhance the learning experience for your students • Get your students involved – ask them for ideas • Involve as many students as possible Past grants have been awarded to: Donna PullerDiane SmithAndrea Yingling Chrisy LightnerSherry KilleKelly Tarbox Ronda WianKelly FoltzTheresa Harris Dan ZeiglerShanna RiekofskyShane Locke

This is a four person scramble with lunch, prizes, awards, and a great dinner afterwards. Please consider having a team next year to support our students and to help raise money for the Venture Grants.

  11. Bowl-A-Thon New for 2016-17 school year Being held in February May become an annual event Teachers vs Teachers / Groups vs Groups All proceeds will go to the Foundation

  12. Ways to give to the Foundation The donations we receive from the Employee Giving helps offset the cost of the Scholarships and Venture Grants that we do not raise through our Annual Golf Tournament. You decide how much to give out of your pay. The donation is tax-deductible and all gifts are confidential. Right now only 13% of our employees contribute to the Foundation. Please help us out and give what you can, whether it be a $1.00 a pay or $5.00 a pay, it all goes to a great cause. Stop in the Superintendent’s Office to get a payroll deduction form. • Employee Giving • Memorial/Named Funds • Charitable Gift Annuity • Bequest in your Will • Golf Tournament
