  7. I. THE MISAPPLICATION OF THE SUBJECT ( Ephesians 6:13) • People have worked so hard , • To PUT ON something to their lives that serve as • -neutralizing device • -magic device • -buffer • -insurance • -padding • -spring • -hydraulic power • -insulator

  8. I. THE MISAPPLICATION OF THE SUBJECT ( Ephesians 6:13) FOR WHAT? To LESSEN the shock of the battle collision, that might come. To prepare them for the HOLDS of the uncertain tomorrows To PUT ON something that will hedge them against any attacks

  9. I. THE MISAPPLICATION OF THE SUBJECT ( Ephesians 6:13) Such as: - economic attacks - social attacks - physical attacks - to flow gently with the crowd. “ It easier to row you boat gently down the stream, than to go against the current”

  10. I. THE MISAPPLICATION OF THE SUBJECT ( Ephesians 6:13) QUESTION: WHY DO PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY ARE DOING? V- 13 “ For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood..” People have no idea that there is a spiritual warfare. People have no idea about the nature of the warfare.

UNDERSTANDING THE DEFINED • CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BATTLE. • ( II Timothy 3:1-7) Battle is dangerous- (IGNORANCE) v.1 Lovers of themselves- (SELFIE) v. 2 Lovers of money- (MATERIALISTIC) v.2 Lovers of pleasure- (HEDONISTIC) v.4 Unloving- (PRAGMATIC) v.3 Form of godliness- ( RELIGIOSITY) v.5 Always learning- (ILLITERACY) v.7

  13. III. UNDERSTANDING THE ADMONITION “PUT ON” Analysis: Divine Side- Be Strong in the Lord v-10 Human side- Put On the whole armor of God. The strength is of God The commitment is ours.

Tells of a complete outfit (nothing is lacking) -the soldier must be protected from head to foot. 2. ”Whole”- armor is both defensive and offensive. A description of heavily, armed Roman infantry man reminds us that that we are in the army NOW

  17. III. UNDERSTANDING THE ADMONITION “PUT ON” HOW DOES HE ACCOMPLISH WORLDWIDE? Through organized helpers: -principalities -powers -rulers -spiritual wickedness. DEMONS: -wicked spirits -evil spirits -principalities -rulers of darkness
