  2. 5b Vocabulary • 1. Liberal- not bound by traditional beliefs. (Democrats) • 2. Conservative-tending to preserve traditional beliefs. (Republicans) • 3. Majority- the most. • 4. Party Platform-position of a political party on important issues or values. • 5. Two Party System- Political system with two main political systems. • 6. Third Party- smallest of political parties, rarely wins, focuses on one specific issue, and revolves around political personality. • 7. One Party System-government controlled by a single political party. • 8. Multiparty System- political system with more than two political parties. • 9. Coalition- agreement between two or more political parties to work together to run government. • 10. Political Spectrum- range of differences in political views between two main political parties. • 11. Public Policy- gov’t response to public issues.
