LOCATION Kielceis the capital in the Holy Cross region, with 900-year-old history, located on Środkowomałopolska Upland and is the touristic center for: oldest mountains in Europe - Świętokrzyskie Mountains, National Park of Świętokrzyskie and Industrial District of Staropolska. An area - 110 km2 Population - 200.000 Distance From Warsaw to Kielce - 177 km From Cracow to Kielce - 115 km

The fee can be reduced by the Rector’s decision considering individual social situation of a student.

SCIENCE Research projects Research projects in Poland are mainly founded by two agencies: The National Science Centre (NCN) - is a government executive agency set up to fund basic research, The National Centre for Research and Development - the tasks of the National Centre for Research and Development, are the support of commercialization and other forms of transfer of scientific research results, the management of applied research programs and the performance of national security and defense projects. In 2012 - 2013 researchers of Jan Kochanowski University implemented 21 research projects, which were founded by NCN, 4 were founded by Ministry of Science and Higher Education and 1 research project was founded by Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism.

  19. SCIENCE Publications The basic criterion for appraisal of academic staff is the range and number of their publications. In the years 2008–2012, the JKU employees published 636 monographs altogether. In the year 2012 -109 books. In the same year, the University’s employees published 648 research papers: publication by List B - 471 ERIH publication list - 20 publication by ICR -157 Participation in scientificconferences National conferences – 688 National conferences of an international – 324 International conferences - 460 Conferences for border - 233 Organization of scientific conferences Number of scientific conferences organized in 2012: National conferences - 98 International conferences - 73
