Phytochrome has 2 forms

Phytochrome exists in two forms - red-absorbing phytochrome (Pr) and far-red absorbing phytochrome (Pfr). These forms interconvert based on the light available, with red light favoring Pr and far-red light favoring Pfr. The total amount remains constant, with Pr converting to Pfr in sunlight and reverting back in darkness.
