Theancientrocktombs of the Kings havebecomeanothersymbol of DalyanafterthefamousSeaTurtles, CarettaCarettas. Althoughtherearemanyrocktombsaroundthearea, themostfamousarethosewhichlookdirecttotheDalyantownfromtheoppositeside of theriver. Thesetombsaretherestingplaces of the Kings of Caunos. Theyarecarved in thestyle of Lycianrocktombs.
Theruins of theancientcity of Caunosarecloseandcan be reachedbyboator on foot. Itwasoriginally on thesea, but itsharbourgraduallysiltedup. It has onlybeenpartiallyexcavated but theremainsareextensiveandinclude a theatredatingfromthe 2nd century BC, Roman baths, temple of Apolloand agora ormarketplace.
