Answer : Jesus Christ had to Fulfill /Complete a GREAT PLAN !!
A PLAN of God that was formulated before the creation of the world 1 Peter 1:18-21 “18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.]
Thus it was a PLAN to make for God • His people, a people who would respond to Him and love Him, • A people who would be cleansed from their sins, • A people who would choose holiness and reject sin.

What then was the PLAN ? Jesus literally TOOK our sins, as if He had committed them – that’s why He was justly punished for those sins. “For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. “Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.” – Mark 13:7b-8 “21thatthe creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirthright up to the present time.” – Romans 8:21-22
“until the full number of the Gentiles has come in” – Romans 11:25b Until Christ’ second coming, let us (the church) turn suffering into good.
It is finished, but it is NOT over.
