MINI HARP VANESSA & NAJLA 9.1
INTRODUCTION • Objective: Our objective is to investigate how the concepts of wave and sound are applied in the making of one octave musical instrument. • Hypothesis: We hypothesize that the diameter, the thickness and the length of the strings can affect the musical fraction.
INTRODUCTION • Variables: • Independent: The length of the strings. • Dependent: The range of sounds different length of every each strings produce. • Controlled: The material of string, length of string, thickness of string
Materials • Wood • Nylon • Badminton string • Glue • Ruler • Pen / Pencil • Scissor • Plastic
The process • Find the good wood that strong enough • Cut it into 12 pieces • Connect all the wood so they became into one harp. (There are three harps) • Collect 3 different strings (nylon, plastic, badminton’s racket string)
THE PROCESS • Make 8 holes for each harp • Put the string one by one to the hole, each hole has one string • The harps will produce sound if we strum the harps • To test whether each harp produces the right sound, we should listen it carefully.
Evaluation • So the conclusion is the harp that contain of nylon string with the thickness diameter is more loudness that the other strings. The plastic strings is also more loudness than the badminton strings.
