  2. Surprise! • April 9, 1940: Ger attacks Denmark & Norway • Denmark surrenders after just 4 hours • Norway after 2 months • Attacks Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg

  3. France • France is preparing for war along Maginot Line • Ger goes around it by going through the forest through Luxembourg

  4. Ger trap Allies (Britain & France) forcing them to head to the coast, Dunkirk • Britain rescues most of the soldiers • Clearly France is losing!

  5. Italy joins Ger by attacking France from south • June 22, 1940, France surrenders • Charles de Gaulle: General of Fr’s army, flees to London, England and leads resistance movement agst Ger
