  2. Hi my name is Hinemoa Finau. I am 12 years old turning 13 on August 6th. I go to Otahuhu Intermediate School. My favourite subjects are maths, reading and sports. I love coming to school because there is always something exciting to do. At home there is nothing to do but watch TV. My favourite sports are Softball, Basketball and many more. At school I love hanging out with my friends. I think school rocks, but for some it’s not the same. I am looking forward for a fantastic year here in O.I.S. Who Am I?   3. My Family In my family I am the second youngest in the family of eight children. I have five brothers two older sisters and a little nephew. I have one brother in America he’s been there for almost his life. My other brother that is way older than me. He is married and lived his own life. Now at home I live with my two older sister and three brothers. My brothers and sisters are sometimes annoy me. They often bully me but I don’t care. My parents are very nice especially my mum. She cares for us a lot. In our family when there is nothing to do, we go over to our cousins house or go to the beach, or somewhere relaxing. In our family we respect the elder's and they would do the same for you. We also respect our brothers and sisters. I am not allowed to talk back to my brothers and sisters. We are also not to talk back to our parents. Every year we always have a family meeting. I like my family because they are very fun and supportive. I am very thankful to have them In my life.

  4. School & class groups Spelling Group For my spelling group I am in the Tui group with some of my friends and a few other students in class. The people in my group are Ana, Toiata, Giverny and Henry. MATHS GROUP For maths I’m in room 16, and we are learning at level 3+. We are doing decimals and place value. It is really fun there. Now I’m in rm 17 the highest maths group, learning at level 4+ and up. I find some of the maths equations challenging. But I’m starting to enjoy it in rm 17. Responsibility in Class: In class I am the Class Room monitor and my job is to make sure that things in class is ok. And help my teacher with anything she wants help with. Futures Group: For the futures group, I’m in the Tongan group. It is ok.

MATHS GOALS: • HOW I’M GOING TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS: • Make my own equations and find the answers and problems using(+,-,x and division.) • Try writing more information and sketch them out. • Try putting on more information about the question. • WHAT I NEED TO ACHIEVE • Write & solve whole numbers/decimal problems using (+,-,x, and division.) • Make sensible estimate & check reasonableness of answers. • Sketch & interpret graphs which represents everyday situations. • Demonstrate knowledge of conventions for order of operations.
