  8. Medical School Admissions Committees • Admissions Committees are faculty committees • More than 60 faculty members • Admissions Executive Committee (AEC) • Admissions Selection Committee (ASC) • Admissions Interview Committee (AIC) • Admissions Research Interview Committee (ARIC)

AIC Membership • Three year appointments • Commitment each year: • Full day of orientation and training • Interview 5-6 days (once per month)8 a.m. until ~ 3 p.m. • Interviews are held on Thursdaysmid-September thru mid-March • Typical needs • Women, Active Researchers, Cultural and Ethnic Diversity

Admissions Research Recruitment Committee (ARIC) • Conducts “recruitment” interviews with applicants targeted for research and academic medicine careers • Assess applicants’ interest and aptitude for research/academic careers • Interviews held Thursday mornings (9 am- 11:30 am) from mid-September until mid-March
