  2. SINCE 1949 • Who are we? • IAPESGW is a non governmental international membership organisation • Executive Board – 14 countries • UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Austria, USA, Switzerland, South Africa, Iran, Taiwan, Turkey, Cuba, Japan and Venezuela • National Representatives

Aims: To bring together interested scholars and practitioners of many countries to improve the position of girls and women in physical education and sport internationally To represent and promote the interests of girls and women at all levels and in all areas of physical education and sport To co-operate with other organisations and agencies working to promote the interests of women, physical education and/or sport eg through membership to ICSSPE (to ICSP, WHO, UN, IOC) and to other associations eg. WSI & IWG
