(See below) Deadline December 15. • You have been provided with a form to give to all attendees. Please translate into your regional language and collect this information and send to NT at the conclusion of the melas. (A cash award will be provided to the best State BK programme on Dec. 30). BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity

  23. State Evaluation Criteria • Every State must submit a written evaluation report to NT upon conclusion of Badhte Kadam. This is due by Wednesday, December 15 and must include the following information: • Planning meetings-description of agendas; • Media, attach to report news articles, TV videos • Melas, include agendas, pictures, videos and attendance figures. • Volunteers-include information showing volunteer diversity-age, gender, Persons with Disabilities, etc. and copies of presentations made by volunteers. • How would you improve Badhte Kadam? What went particularly well? BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity

  24. Fundraising • We are providing 25000 rupees for administration (30 organisations) and 7500/mela (240 melas). (90% of all funds will be provided by August 15 to each SNAC. 10% of funds will be provided at the end of BadhteKadam, once NT receives finals reports and audited BK expenses) • Your organisation will need to do fundraising, relationship building and networking to ensure that you have adequate funds for each mela. You could have each partner do this individually or you could plan together, more bang for the buck! BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity

  25. Fundraising (con’t) • Put together a budget, detailing out all of your expenses, what will these be, line items? • Once we do this we will have a fundraising goal. • Think about the timeframe in which to achieve this goal. • Let’s put together a plan in order to achieve this goal.

  26. Basic Fundraising Information • “People give to people” therefore successful fundraising goes hand in hand with building relationships/partnerships with prospective donors. • Donors don’t give to institutions. They invest in ideas and people in whom they believe. • Through fundraising for BadhteKadam, we are hoping to help you to build long-term donor relationships! • What makes a good relationship? • Write down five essentials for a relationship. • Be creative-Break the rules!

  27. Relationships BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity

  28. More Fundraising Info. • If a donor responds to a letter of solicitation with a certain gift amount, statistics show that a phone call may reap even more of a donation and a face to face ask may result in a greater gift. • The more you ask, the more you get. If you don’t ask, you won’t get! • The larger the gift, the longer it takes to get. • Process--Identify--- Inform --- Interest --- Involve --- Invest • How will you do this? BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity

  29. Fundraising Prospects • Who are your most likely donors and what benefits will they receive? • Businesses • Individuals • Foundations • Government • Community Groups • Others?

  30. Donor Benefits What are some donor benefits? Why should they contribute? What do they receive in this partnership?

  31. Diversify Funding Base! • Individual/Corporate Memberships • Major Gifts • Special Events • Bequests (planned gifts) • Workplace Campaigns • Special Appeals (direct mail) • Government Grants • Foundation Grants • Monthly Pledge

  32. Diversify Funding Base • Programs • Sales of items (ARUNIM) • Board Giving • In-kind gifts • Donations from Civic & Religious organisations • Corporate Sponsorships and volunteers • Matching Gifts • Canvassing • Endowment Income

  33. Diversity Funding Base

  34. Fundraising Plan • Given all that we just learned, develop a plan to reach your fundraising goal(s). Keep in mind your ultimate goal of adequately funding your administration and all melas. • Break down each step that you need to take. Think about how you approach the various prospects and benefits to them by supporting your efforts. You can do this on a spreadsheet.

  35. Training Volunteers/Partners • You are the main people responsible for ensuring that your volunteers and partners understand BadhteKadam and what they need to do at each mela. • All volunteers need to help with set up of posters, mobile exhibition posters, ensure that bags, give-aways and booklets are provided to the public. They should work directly with the partner/melaorganisation to do this. • You will do the NT and UNCRPD presentations and ensure that these are prepared based on guidelines established from this training.

  36. Thank you! The Success of BadhteKadam is up to all of us! Questions? BK(ool)-Create Inclusion, Celebrate Diversity
