  3. VCT 2004–2009 SPLIT INTO GENDER • VCT TESTS DONE: 2004-2009: 15579 5276 M 10303F Negative: 63.07 % 9826 3248 M 6578F 61.56 % 63.84 %

  4. SELF REFERRED CLIENTS • The number of SR clients for 2004-2009 8098 (51.98%) Gender based; M 3405 F 4693 42.05% 57.95 %

  5. PMTCT tests done • Total 4059 • Negative results: 3119 76.84 % • Positive results : 940 23.16 %

  6. SA NEGATIVE POPULATION • TOTAL POPULATION 47 MILLION • HIV POSITIVE ESTIMATES : 5.5 MILLION 41.5 MILLION PEOPLE HIV NEGATIVE

  7. HIV NEGATIVE RESULTS • Help clients to find ways to stay negative • Encourage negative testing clients to test regularly (at least twice a year) • Have an open door policy to assist them with whatever issues they might have....

  8. Do HIV negative clients test again at a later stage? • Yes, they do! • Many people have come back to test again but with no regular sequence in it! • A good number of clients have been testing twice a year, for more then 5 years and stay negative (10%)
