  3. “Fluvial processes are older than orogenic processes and have been downcutting the mountains as they grew which has created sharp peaks and valleys which traverse the range.”

  7. SIKKIM: • North: Mountainous area with Alpine climate. Snow Cover lasts four months out of the year. • Highlands: Temperate climate: Summer: 15°C-25°C Winter: 3°C-15°C. Most Populous area due to mild weather. • Southern: Sub-tropical : Monsoon May to June. 3,500 mm annual rainfall. • Fog is prominent during winters and monsoon throughout the country • Snow is rare other than the North. • Orientation to the Bay of the Bengal and Monsoon creates the high moisture content.

Bhutan: • North: Borders Tibet, mountainous area has snow all year. • Southern Foothills and Central: Temperate year round • Southern Border and West: Sub-Tropical and experiences high humidity. • 5,000 mm Rainfall per year. • Monsoon makes Bhutan one of the wettest places in the world. • Monsoon accounts for 90% of its annual rainfall.

ArunAchal PRadesh: “Land of the Rising Sun.” • North: Alpine/Tundra. • Central/Foothills: Temperate. • South/Sea Level: Sub-Tropical and Humid. • Exposed to Monsoon effects • 2,000-4,000 mm Rainfall per year, mostly during Monsoon season. • Central and Sea Level areas experience warmer winters compared to other Eastern Regions. • Winters Avg: 15°C to 21°C. • Many rivers run along and through.

  22. SIKKIM: (India) • India GDP: $5.425 trillion. • Eleventh-largest economy, 486.6-million worker labor force is the world's second-largest. • Major exports include petroleum products, textile goods, jewelry, software, engineering goods, chemicals, and leather.

  23. ArunchalPRadesh: (China) • China GDP: $14.625 trillion. (2nd) • World's largest trading power. • Largest foreign holder of US public debt and the world's largest recipient of inward foreign direct investment. Holds over US$1.16 trillion in US Treasury bonds. • China became the world's largest energy consumer in 2010, the world's largest oil importer.

Bhutan: • Bhutan GDP: $4.287 billion. • Bhutan's economy is one of the world's smallest, though Bhutan had the second fastest growing economy in the world. • Bhutan's economy is based on agriculture, forestry, tourism and the sale of hydroelectric power to India. • Agricultural produce includes rice, chilies, dairy (some yak, mostly cow) products, buckwheat, barley, root crops, apples, and citrus and maize at lower elevations.
