Update of ISC/LR-PD PHY Mode for IEEE 802.15.7r1 Baseline Draft

This document provides an update to the ISC/LR-PD PHY mode input in the IEEE 802.15.7r1 baseline draft. It includes proposals for 2D sequential codes and sequential scalable 2D codes from Kookmin University and Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SNUST) respectively.

  2. Contents • Current Draft-D0 Text Input Status • Proposed Update Needed on Draft-D0 Text Input Status • Reason to add Update on Draft-D0 Text Input Status • 2D Sequential Code Kookmin’s Proposal • Sequential Scalable 2D Code SNUST’s Proposal • Conclusion Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  3. Current ISC/LR-PD Draft D0 Input Status • SNUST’s Invisible Data Embedding uses different methods and supported modulation modes are update in doc 16/0025r0.  “2 code invisible” should be changed to original name – “Invisible Data Embedding”. From 16/271r0 by Rick Roberts on 5th May 2016 Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  4. Update Needed In Draft D0 Input Status • Kookmin’s 2D Sequential Code uses the single block code on a screen. (Doc 16/0240r0) • Kookmin’s Sequential concept regards as continuously changing color components in a block • SNUST’s Sequential Scalable 2D Code uses Multiple Block codes on a Screen. • (Doc 16/0025r0 Page 15) • SNUST Sequential Scalable 2D Code uses Multiple Block codes on a Screen. Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  5. Kookmin’s 2D Sequential Code Proposal • Reference 16/0241r0 on March 2016 Page 4 • Kookmin’s 2D Sequential Code uses the single block code on a screen. • Kookmin’s Sequential concept utilizes continuously changing color components in a block. Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  6. SNUST’s Sequential Scalable 2D Code Proposal • Reference 16/0025 on Jan 2016 Page 15 • SNUST’s Sequential Scalable 2D Code uses Multiple Block codes on a Screen. • Uses 2D Coded Pattern : QR Code, Color Code • Uses Multiple Coded Block Sequential Scalable 2D Code – QR Code Sequential Scalable 2D Code – Color Code Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  7. SNUST’s VTASC Proposal Light Source (Bulb) • Reference: 16/0024 (Jan 2016) Page 5 & 16/0278 ( March 2016) Page 10 • Uses Variable (Scalable) Light Source Size/Pattern • VTASC • Uses Color, Size, Shape, and Transparency Scalability Jaesang Cha [SNUST]

  8. Conclusions • SNUST suggests to update the ISC/LR-PD Mode as per all SNUST’s proposals and schemes. Jaesang Cha [SNUST]
