  3. God is Spirit (John 4:24) GOD MAN Must be concerned for our soul Made in image of God (inner man), Gen 1:26-27 Soul most important, Matt 16:24 Conform to Christ, Col 3:10 • Does not sin, Num 23:19 • Does not think like men, Isa 55:6-9 • Became flesh so we can know Him, Jno 1:14, 18 3

  4. God is Truth (John 3:33) GOD MAN Must know Him…in Him…in His Son… eternal life, 1 Jno 5:20 Must hear and obey His word, Jno 8:45-47 • Truth is the self-expression of God, Deut 32:4; Jno 14:6 • Word, Jno 17:17 • Testimony is true, Rom 3:4 • Testimony of Son is true, 1 Jno 5:10 4

  5. God is Light (1 John 1:5) GOD MAN Must come to the light by doing the truth, Jno 3:20-21 Must live in the light, Jno 8:12; 1 Jno 1:7 • Brilliance of holiness, 1 Tim 6:16 • Illumination of life, Jno 1:1-4 • Vanquishes the darkness of sin, Jno 1:5; 3:19 5

  6. God is Love (1 John 4:8) GOD MAN Must love God, our neighbors, our enemies, one another, Matt 22:37-39; 5:44-45; 1 Jno 4:7, 11-12, 16 • Love emanates from God • Defines love and shows love to us, 1 Jno 4:9-10 (Jno 3:16) 6

God is Faithful (trustworthy) GOD MAN Must be faithful to bless, Jas 3:9-10 Must be faithful to guard against sin, Eph 6:11; Gal 6:2 Must be faithful to keep our word to God, Lk 6:46 • To bless us eternally with fellowship in Christ, 1 Cor 1: 7-9 • To protect us from sin, 1 Cor 10:13 • To keep His word to us, 2 Cor 1:18 7

  8. God is One (Galatians 3:20) GOD MAN Must show ourselves to be sons of God by being one (united) in Christ, Jno 17:20-21; 13:34-35; Eph 4:3-6 • One God of all men, Rom 3:29 • Not divided, Deut 6:4 • No other god, 1 Cor 8:5-6 8

  10. GOD Punish Disobedient Save Sinners Rom 6:23; Gal 3:26-27; 2 Ths 1:8-9 10
