GREGORY TRACK 2014 Obstacles are what you see when you take your eye off the finish line
Coach Wes 8th Grade Girls Shot and Discus
Expectations • You represent all of Gregory Middle School, past and present • We expect the best: your behavior, your performance, your level of respect for competitors, spectators, officials, concession workers…everyone! • Inappropriate behavior/language at a practice or meet will lead to your dismissal from the track program • You are a student first, an athlete second, you must maintain passing grades to be a part of the Gregory program
Philosophy • We are ONE track program that competes at 4 different levels. We support each other at all times. • TEAM Sport: We will put you in a position to be successful as well as for the success of the TEAM. Be flexible and coachable. • 2nd, 3rd, & 4ths are just as important, if not more important, than 1st Place • Attendance is vital to your individual success as well as the success of the team
Philosophy Continued…… • Athletes MUST be a participant in practice prior to a meet to be eligible to participate in the meet (Exception: absent from school day before a meet) • Participating in another sport during Gregory track is possible. It takes a great deal of organization and time management. Please see your individual coach with conflicts/concerns. We want success for you as an individual as well as the team. That success comes from daily participation with your teammates.
