Story Set it an alternate world created by the ancient peoples of the light called Ustine. Men, Elves and Beasts populate the lands living in relative harmony for centuries until the discovery the artefact that became known as the Shadow of Corruption by Kallor. Kallor and his minions reside on the dark side of the planet attacking and besieging the light side of the planet and destroying everything. Ulstinites have been evacuated to Ustine city for protection against the hordes.
Game play The game will follow the form of a RPG, with combat and party elements similar in style to that of Final Fantasy 7. Characters increase their skills and abilities by playing through the missions and performing tasks which will allow them to “level up”. All combat will take place in shadows of the dark side and outside the shield of Ulstine city. LAN play is currently planned if the program of works will support it.
Environment The environments will be split into two extremes; One side of the environment will be in shadow, with creepy, scary forests, pits and caves. The other will be in constant light with colourful and beautiful buildings and plant life.
Programming The game will be programmed in XNA using Visual Studio 2008 and the code will be heavily based off of samples and tutorials for RPG games in XNA 3.0 available at the MSDN.
Dialogue The game dialogue will be informative, short and relevant to the story. Ideally if we had the budget we would have liked to use the following for character voices: Patrick Steward Brian Blessed Robert Carlyle Ian Mckellen Sean Bean However as this is not the case the graphics artist will be performing the spoken dialogue.
