  3. Why you should help Our people work at their best. To fund raise help people with any lung disease. In 2004 in the U.S approximately 150,000 people died from lung cancer alone. Another 100 million people world wide have asthma as well as 1 out of 5 homeless people die from tuberculosis within a year of be diagnosed. Shouldn't you be part of the change.

  4. Smoking is bad! • Did you know smoking kills 52 people a day in Australia. • If you smoke 20 cigarettes a day for 16 years you have breathed in a kilo of tar into your lungs. • Cigarettes have 40 know carcinogens. • Every cigarette you smoke decreases your life expectancy by up to 8 minutes. • Cigarette smoke contains over 4000 chemicals.

  5. Facts about us We began as the anti-tuberculosis society in 1906. Tuberculosis was the #1 killer at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1978 they became the BC Lung Association.

  6. Our cause To help all that have lung diseases • Help smokers quit and to promote non-smoking. • Find a cure for lung disease. • Clean our air. • Support lung friendly activities and events.
