Structural Adaptation • physical features of an organism
Behavioral Adaptation • Behavioral adaptations are the things organisms do to survive. • For example, bird calls and migration are behavioral adaptations.
DominantAllele one whose trait always shows up or is seen in the organism when the allele is present.
Recessive a trait that is hidden or not seen in the organism when the allele is present. To see the recessive expression, both alleles must be recessive in the gene.
Channelization • The modification of a natural river channel; may include deepening, widening, or straightening.
Coastal Stabilization • Shore erosion control practices using hardened structures that armor and stabilize the shoreline landward of the structure from further erosion. • Examples:Bulkheads, concrete sea walls, rip-rap, jetties, groins, breakwaters, stone reinforcement

Reintroduction of Species the deliberate release of animals from captivity into the wild. It usually involves species that are endangered or extinct in the wild. In some cases, reintroduction involves a species that had been wiped out in a particular ecosystem, but survived elsewhere in the wild.
