Amenities • Large common areas for recreation, social gatherings, church services • Health stations with: • Care plan charts on each resident • Medication carts where qualified staff prepare and administer medication (comment) • Video surveillance cameras which in most cases monitor hallways, exits, and common areas of the facility. • Nurse call systems (comment)

Amenities (continued) • Private dining rooms • Bathing stations with differing systems, as well as washrooms/bathroom in each residents room • Hair salon • Libraries • Wheelchair accessible rooms • Patio's (and in some cases) walking paths around the buildings to enhance mobility in the warmer seasons

4. Services Medical • In-house physician visits • Monitoring nurse and social worker from health and community services • Medication administration by trained staff

5. Services Resident Care • Bathing • Assist with clothing • Other personal care hygiene • Insulin administration • Colostomy care • Blood pressure monitoring • Other care as required

6. Services Dietary • Meal and snack preparation served in spacious dining room • Meals served in resident’s room when needed • Private dining functions for families and friends

7. Services Recreation • Monthly activities calendar posted which would include but not limited to: • exercise programs for mobility and strengthening • walking programs: indoor in colder weather, outdoor in seasonal acceptable temperatures • games ie. bowing, bingo, darts, cards, bowling, etc.

8. Services Recreation (continued) • music and dancing groups • outdoor activities include but not limited to: gardening, walking, picnics, BBQ's and exchange of social gatherings at other facilities during summer months

9. Other Services • Housekeeping with daily room cleaning • Laundry services • Maintenance services to provide a pleasant and safe environment

10. Staffing Staffing skills mix can vary for each facility, but includes the following: • Manager and supervisor • Registered nurse on staff or consulting registered nurse (not at all sites) • Licensed practical nurse • Personal care attendant • Security • Cooks, kitchen aides • Housekeeping • Maintenance • recreation personnel

11. In-service staff training • In-service training is completed in each facility annually and varies, depending on owners and care needs for their clients. • All in-services may not be included in this list: • emergency first aid • diabetic insulin • back injury prevention • medication administration and review • gastronomy care (site specific) • colostomy care (site specific) • sub q injections • blood pressure testing • blood glucose testing • dementia/delirium/depression training
