Things to Keep In Mind • Blue words indicate pull down menus • Scrolling over graphs gives other options and information • Have some questions in mind before you use the interactive web site; this will help you with sifting through the data

Group Summaries ‘Number Tested PL’ includes both PSSA students and PASA students with valid performance level scores ‘Number Tested’ includes only students who took PSSA with a valid scale score For the history data from 2004 through 2006, ‘Number Tested PL’ is the same as ‘Number Tested’ and includes only students with valid PSSA scores.
Getting Reports Easily Viewed on Screen Can be disaggregated or modified Getting Text Can be imported into Excel Can use the data to make your own graphs

Graphical Summary Three Types • Bar- Performance levels on one line • Histogram- Performance levels horizontally • Line- Plots the mean scaled score over time
View the percentage by scrolling over the line. Clicking on the line pulls up a drop down menu. Bar Graphs
Bar Graph Options Change views by clicking on the options at the bottom. These graphs can be cut and pasted into other documents.
Histogram • Clicking on the graph will also pull up a drop down menu, just like for bar graphs. • Both graphs can be drilled to roster.
eMetric in the Classroom • Helpful reports: • Summary Reports • Contain macro data for tested grade levels in building • Individual Performance • Create class rosters of student performance and reporting category data • Use Excel to manipulate the data
What to do with the reports • Summary Reports • Share with staff • Provides a snapshot of the performance of the grades in the building on all of the PSSA • Look at the reporting category data for the grade level • Individual Performance • Share with specific teachers • Analyze effectiveness of instruction for targeted anchors or response types • If looking at longitudinal results, examine trends over time
