Why do we need a passport? • It’s a form of identification • Issued by government to show your identity and nationality • Essentially, a passport is an authorized document requesting that its bearer be allowed to pass freely and be granted protection in a foreign country. • They're made to fit a standard size, they include a photograph and other identifying details, and they need to be renewed periodically.
What do you need to travel? • To drive across provinces by car = nothing • To fly between provinces = some form of government ID (drivers license, health card) • To drive across to the US = passport • To fly to the US = passport • To fly anywhere in the world = passport
