Enhance your creative skills during study leave by drawing from provided images at home. Develop confidence and techniques for the Prelim exam by focusing on composition, proportion, and tonal pencil drawings.

S4 Home Study • Whilst you are off school it is important to continue developing your creative skills and prepare for the Prelim Exam. • Use the image and paper resources you were given before study leave to work from at home. • You should be working from the images to be best prepared for the Prelim exam. • Tasks to do - • Make a drawing from your image. • Get to know the image you will be working from by sketching out the basic shapes and lines that you see. • Focus on one object or part of composition. • Draw lightly so you can make changes as every Artist does. • Once you are happy with your drawing think what is next to it in the composition. • Make each part in proportion by checking the size of one part of your drawing to another. • Whatever materials you are using, by getting to know the different parts of the under drawing and practicing you will develop confidence and know what to do and how to do it in the Prelim. • You could make several drawings to get better and more confident. • Make a tonal pencil drawing. • Again, whatever materials you use will use looking for the different shapes of lights and darks that make up the composition will be good practice. • Make sure you add a full range of tone to show three-dimensional form. • Use mark-Making to show the range of textures.
