  1. QIYAMAT In the light of the Quran and Sunnah

  2. When The Destruction Of Living Things Shall Begin…

  3. The Blowing of the Trumpet A Trumpet will be blown. This will be a huge & destructive blast which will give no time to finish anything. Allah will destroy all living things except what He wills. “And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except whom Allah wills…” (Quran 39;68)

  4. How quickly will people die The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “The Hour will be established (so suddenly) that two persons spreading a garment between them will not be able to finish their bargain, nor will they be able to fold it up. The Hour will be established while a man is carrying the milk of his she-camel, but cannot drink it; and the Hour will be established when someone is not able to prepare the tank to water his livestock from it; and the Hour will be established when some of you has raised his food to his mouth but cannot eat it.” (Bukhari)

  5. The one who will blow the trumpet Israfeel is prepared from the time Allah created him. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “How could I relax when the bearer of the Trumpet has put the Trumpet to his lips and tilted his forehead, and is listening out, waiting for the command to blow the Trumpet.” (Tirmidhi)

  6. The Day when the trumpet will be blown The Hour will begin on Friday. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “The best of your days is Friday. Adam was created on Friday, and this day he died, the Trumpet will be blown and all of the creation will swoon on Friday. “ (Abu Dawood) “The days were shown to me, and among them Friday was shown to me. It looked like a white mirror in the middle of which is a black spot. I asked, ‘What is this?’. It was said, ‘The Hour’.”

  7. How Many Times Will the Trumpet be blown Israfil will blow the Trumpet twice. ArRaajifah, and the second Ar-Raadifah “And the trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him who Allah wills. Then it will be blown a second time, and behold they will be standing, looking on (waiting).” (Quran 39;68)

  8. WHEN EVERYTHING HAS PERISHED “All that is on earth will perish; But will abide (forever) the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty Bounty and Honor.” (Quran 55;25-26) “Allah will say: “Where are the mighty men? Where are the proud men? For whom is the dominion today?” Then after a long interval, Allah will Himself reply to this question: ‘That of Allah, the One, The Irresistible.” (Quran :40;16)

  9. The resurrection The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “All of the children of Adam will be consumed by the earth apart from the coccyx (tail bone) from which he was created and will be created anew.” “ Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets.” “Then Allah will send or He will cause to be sent rain which will be like dew and there will grow out of it the bodies of people. Then the second trumpet will be blown and they will stand up and begin to look (around).” (Muslim) When Allah wills, He will command Israfeel to blow the Trumpet and the souls will return to the bodies

  10. All created things will be gathered in one huge place That is a Day wherein mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present.” (Quran: 11;103)

  11. Itwillbealongday… “A questioner asked about a Penalty to befall. To the disbelievers; of it there is none to ward off.(It is) from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent. The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.” (Quran:70;1-4) “ And on the Day when He will gather them, (it will be) as if they had not remained (in the world) but an hour of the day: (and) they will know each other: assuredly those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided.” (Quran:10;45)

  12. Compared to the life of this world “The Day they see it (it will be) as if they had not remained but a single evening or (at most till) the following morning! “ (Quran: 79;46) “The Day when the Trumpet will be sounded: that Day We shall gather the sinful blear-eyed (with terror). In whispers will they consult each other: "You remained not longer than ten (Days)"; We know best what they will say when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "You remained not but one day!“ (Quran: 20;102-104)

  13. They will be in bodies that will never die. “.. And death will come to him from very side, yet he will not die…” (Quran; 14;17) People will be able to see things they could not see before such as angels and jinns, and other things which only Allah knows.. The Resurrection Will Be A New Creation

  14. First person for whom the earth will split open The Prophet (s.a.w) said: ”I will be the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and the first one for whom the grave will be split open, the first one to intercede and the first one whose intercession will be accepted..” (Muslim)

  15. Description of gathering of mankind People will be gathered barefoot , naked and uncircumcized . The believers will rise from their graves according to their eeman and deeds. They will be doing what they were doing when they died. For e.g. reciting the talbiyah if they died in a state of ihram, or reciting the kalimah if they were reciting it at death, martyrs with their wounds bleeding red and with the scent of musk. The believers will not be in the same state of fear as the disbelievers and polytheists.

  16. The Disbelievers The transgressors, sinners, disbelievers and polytheists will be raised according to their deeds Some will be blind, some deaf, some lame, some in the form of ants and some walking on their faces. When the Prophet (s.a.w) was asked how people could walk on their faces, he replied: ” He who caused them to walk on their feet has power to make them walk on their faces.” (Tirmidhi)

  17. The clothing of mankind on the day ofressurection The righteous will be clothed in noble garments The first to be clothed will be Ibrahim Al-Khaleel (AS) The evil-doers will be clothed in trousers of tar and a shield of scabs, and other awful garments.

  18. “That Will Be That Day ADay Of Distress . Far From Easy For Those Without Faith.” (Quran:74;9-10)

  19. Fear And Terror So Great “O mankind! fear your Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible! The Day you shall see it, every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed): you shall see mankind as in a drunken riot yet not drunk: but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah.” (Quran : 22;1-2) “Think not that Allah does not heed the deeds of those who do wrong. He but gives them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror. They are running forward with necks outstretched, their heads uplifted, their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts a (gaping) void.” (Quran: 14;42-43)

  20. Fear And Terror So Great “Warn them of the Day that is (ever) drawing near when the Hearts will (come) right up to the throats to choke (them); no intimate friend nor intercessor will the wrongdoers have who could be listened to.” (Quran: 40;18) “Hearts that Day will be in agitation; Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.” (Quran:79;8-9) “Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white-haired? The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.” ( Quran: 73;17-18)

  21. No one Will CareFor Another “Then when the Trumpet is blown there will be no more relationships between them that day nor will one ask after another! (Quran:23;101) “That Day shall a man flee from his own brother. And from his mother and his father. And from his wife and his children. Each one of them that Day will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. “ (Quran:80;34-37)

  22. No one Will CareFor Another “O mankind, do your duty to your Lord and fear (the coming of) a Day when no father will avail his son nor will a son avail his father at all.” (Quran:31;33) “Andno friend will ask after a friend. Though they will be put in sight of each other. The sinner's desire will be: would that he could redeem himself from the Penalty of that Day by (sacrificing) his children, his wife and his brother, his kindred who sheltered him. And all that is on earth so it could deliver him” (Quran:70;10-14)

  23. THE Land Of Gathering The land is other than this earth of ours. “ On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible.”(Quran:14;48) The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “ On the Day of Resurrection, mankind will be gathered on an earth that is reddish white, like a fine loaf of bread (made from pure fine flour)” (Bukhari)

  24. Driven to the plain ofHashr Two angels will be appointed over every person to deliver him from the grave to the Plain of Hashr The disbelivers will traverse this distance in a state of disgrace and humiliation, some stumbling, some trampled under people’s feet, some being driven by a fire behind them The believers will also traverse the distance on rides or on foot according to their beliefs and deeds.

  25. Separation on reachinghashr “O you in sin! Get you apart this Day!” (Quran: 36;59) All the people will be separated into groups according to their predominant deeds or misdeeds in the world: Sun worshippers, star worshippers, fire worshippers, idol worshippers, apostates, hypocrites, etc. The scholars, the worshippers, the martyrs, the mujahid, the huffaz, the Allah-conscious, the humble etc. The sinners and transgressors will be separated – those who did not pray, those who did not fast, those who did not give zakah, tyrants, riba-takers, robbers, betrayers of trust, friends of the disbelivers etc.

  26. Unbearable heat, hunger and thirst The sun will be pouring down fire from a distance of one mile and there will be no shade. The ground will be blazing hot. People will be immersed in their sweat according to their deeds, some up to their ankles, others up to the knees, thighs, chests or necks. The disbelievers and polytheists will have their mouths covered with sweat reaching their ears and some will be totally immersed in it. The hunger and thirst will be unbearable. Hungry, thirsty and hot, they will wait for 50,000 years

  27. The greater intercession People will go to the prophets Adam, Nuh, Musa, Eisa (AS)for intercession to speed up the judgment but will be told to go to someone else. They will refuse them saying: “My Lord has today become angry as He has never become before, nor will become thereafter.” Finally they will go to Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and plead for intercession. On that day Allah will raise him to Al-Maqam-al-Mahmuud, the station of praise and glory, which is under Allah’s throne, On reaching there, he (s.a.w) will fall in prostration before Allah and will be guided to praise and glorifications of Him. When Allah’s anger has subsided, then it will be said:“O Muhammad! Raise your head. Ask and it will be granted. Intercede! It will be accepted.”

  28. TheReckoning And Requital The Prophet (s.a.w) will return to the Plain of Hashr and Allah will descend majestically with the angels, 8 of them holding the throne. “And your Lord will come, and His angels, rank upon rank.” (Quran:89;22) Angels will be standing in rows at the close and distant corners and the court will be set up for judgment The Prophets and witnesses will be called and the Record of deeds will be distributed. A person will remember his deeds in graphic detail. “What a book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great , but takes account thereof!” (Quran:18;49)

  29. THE Reaction “That Day shall you be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that you hide will be hidden. Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! read you my Record! "I did really understand that my Account would (one Day) reach me!“ (Quran: 69;18-20) “And he that will be given his Record in his left hand will say: "Ah! would that my record had not been given to me!"And that I had never realized how my account (stood)! Ah! would that (Death) had made an end of me! “ (Quran:69:25-27)

  30. Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good see it! And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil shall see it. (Quran: 99;7-8)

  31. The Prophet (s.a.w) said:“The son of Adam will not be released from his Lord’s presence on the Day of Resurrection until he has been questioned about five things: his life and how he spent it, his youth and how he used it, his wealth and how he earned it and spent it and what he did with the knowledge he gained.” (Tirmidhi)

  32. Anything to save themselves but to no avail “And if each soul that wronged had everything on earth, it would offer it in ransom. And they will confide regret when they see the punishment; and they will be judged in justice, and they will not be wronged.” (Quran: 10;54) “But those who did not respond to Him - if they had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would (attempt to) ransom themselves thereby. Those will have the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.” (Quran:13;18)

  33. Anything to save themselves but to no avail “As to those who reject faith and die rejecting, never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains though they should offer it for ransom. For such is (in store) a penalty grievous and they will find no helpers.” (Quran: 3;91) “And no friend will ask after a friend. Though they will be put in sight of each other. The sinner's desire will be: would that he could redeem himself from the Penalty of that Day by (sacrificing) his children. And his wife and his brother. And his kindred who sheltered him.And all all that is on earth so it could deliver him:” (Quran: 70;11-14)

  34. Denial of sins Despite the testimony of the angels, prophets of the time, places, the earth, days and nights, a person will deny his sins. “That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to Us and their feet bear witness to all that they did.” (Quran: 36;65) “At length when they reach the (Fire) their hearing their sight and their skins will bear witness against them as to (all) their deeds. They will say to their skins: "Why do you bear witness against us?" They will say: "Allah has given us speech (He) Who gives speech to everything: He created you for the first time and unto Him were you to return.” (Quran: 41;21-22)

  35. Nations who denied their prophets will be questioned These nations will deny that their prophets delivered them Allah’s message, so the Muslims will testify to the truth based on what they have been told in the Quran that these prophets did do so. “It is He Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (Revelation); that the Apostle may be a witness for you and you be witnesses for mankind!” (Quran: 22;78)

  36. “If only you could see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe.“ (Quran :32;12)

  37. Blame laying “And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones and they misled us as to the (right). Lord! Give them Double Penalty and curse them with a very great Curse!” (Quran:33;67-68) “He will say: “Enter you in the company of the peoples who passed away before you, men and Jinns into the fire. Every time a new people enters, it curses its sister-people (that went before) until they follow each other all into the fire. The last about the first will say: "Our Lord! it is these that misled us: so give them a double penalty in the fire." He will say: "doubled for all, but this you do not understand.“ Then the first will say to the last: “See then! no advantage have you over us; so taste the penalty for all that you did!" (Quran: 7;38;39)

  38. other proceedings inhashr Accountability for other deeds. Of the rights of Allah, the first will be prayer. Of the rights of people, the first will be for murder

  39. Retaliation given for wrong done to others Allah will announce, “ I am the King and the One who gets people their rights. Today no inmate of Hell can go to Hell till I get very inhabitant of Paradise his right from him, and no inhabitant of Paradise will go to Paradise till I get the inmate of Hell his right from him.”(Tabarani) The currency of settlement will be deeds. Good deeds will be given from the account of the oppressor to the oppressed. If there are insufficient good deeds, then the equivalent amount of evil deeds of the oppressed will be put into the account of the oppressor. Even animals will claim their rights for any injustices done to each other and then they will be given the order to die.

  40. Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “Do you know who is poor?” They (the Companions of the Prophet) said: “A poor man amongst us is one who has neither dirham with him nor wealth.” He (the Prophet) said: “The poor of my Ummah would be he who would come on the Day of Resurrection with prayers and fasts and Zakat but (he would find himself bankrupt on that day as he would have exhausted his funds of virtues) since he hurled abuses upon others, brought calumny against others and unlawfully consumed the wealth of others and shed the blood of others and beat others, and his virtues would be credited to the account of one (who suffered at his hand). And if his good deeds fall short to clear the account, then his sins would be entered in (his account) and he would be thrown in the Hell-Fire.” (Muslim).”

  41. Setting up of scales After all settlement of claims, the Record of Deeds in its final form will be ready for weighing and the Scales will be set up. The weight of people’s deeds will be according to their eeman, aqeedah(belief) and intentions. The best possible deeds of disbelievers, polytheists, apostates and hypocrites will not even weigh an atom. The weight of the kalimah will outweigh all the scrolls of a believer.

  42. The cistern Allah will honour His slave and Messenger in the great gathering by giving him for his ummah, a huge vast cistern , the water of which comes from river of Al-Kauthar which Allah has given to His Messenger in Paradise. Whoever drinks from it will never feel thirsty again. The Prophet (s.a.w) will recognise his ummah by the white faces, hands and feet on account of the traces of their ablution. Those who turned apostate or innovated in religion will be turned away and kept away from it.

  43. Final gathering to the place of eternal abode The non-believers will fall into Hell. As for the believers, Allah, the Almighty will come to them in the shape other than the one they saw the first time and they will not recognise Him and He will uncover His shin. Every believer will prostrate to Him except those who used to prostrate in the world for showing off and gaining a good reputation. These people will try to prostrate but their backs will be rigid like one piece of wood.

  44. Sirat bridge over hell Every person will have to pass over this bridge over Hell to get to Paradise. It is finer than a hair and sharper than the edge of a sword Before passing it, pitch darkness will engulf the entire Plain of Hashr and every person will be given light according to his beliefs and deeds. The least level of light will be a flickering light in the toe. The light of the hypocrites will be extinguished and at that time the believers will pray: “Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and grant us forgiveness; For you have power over all things. “ (Quran:66;8)

  45. Sirat bridge over hell • Sirat is a slippery bridge on which there are clamps and hooks. • Some believers will cross the bridge in the blinking of an eye, some as fast as lightning, some running, walking, crawling or dragging themselves. • Some people will be safe, others will be cut, some will fall down into Hell. • The prophets will be making the invocation: “AllahummaSallim, Sallim (O Allah, save us, save us!)” • The first to cross the bridge will be Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). • After crossing the bridge, people will be stopped at Qantara, the last part of the bridge before entering Paradise and cleansed and purified of any anger, rancour or negative feelings.

  46. Fate of the hypocrites • The hypocrites will have no light and will ask the believers for light. It will be said ; “ Go back and seek a light.” • They will be tricked as they used to deceive the believers in the world .When they will retreat to the rear, and the believers would have advanced to the front, the two groups will become distinct. • A wall will be set up between them in which there will be a gate; within that wall will be mercy and outside it will be torment.

  47. THE intercession The Prophet(s.a.w) will approach the gate of Paradise; it will open and he will enter it with his ummah. He will be concerned about his ummah who have fallen into Hell and he will fall down in prostration, praise and glorify Allah and request permission to intercede. He will be told to take out of Hell anyone from his ummah who has the equivalent of a grain of barley of eeman in his heart. The martyrs, scholars, righteous and awliya of the Muslim ummah will also intercede for people known to them. After this, the Prophet’s ummah will constitute one fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise. The other prophets will then start interceding for their nations.

  48. THE intercession He (s.a.w) will again fall down in prostration and seek permission to intercede and he will be granted this. He will be told to take out of Hell anyone who has eeman to the extent of a mustard seed or an atom. After this his ummah will constitute one third of the people of Paradise. For the third time he (s.a.w) will prostrate to Allah seeking permission to intercede and this time it will be for people with less than a mustard seed of eeman in their hearts. After taking them out of Hell his ummah will reach to half the residents of Paradise.

  49. THE fourth time The fourth time when he (s.a.w) will seek permission to intercede for those who said even once, “There is no god but Allah,” Allah will say “ By My Honour, Greatness and Glory and Majesty! Whoever said there is no God but Allah, I will Myself take him out of the Fire.” He will take out some people whose bodies have been burnt, and they will be thrown into a river at the entrance of Paradise, called the water of life. They will grow on its banks, as a seed carried by the torrent grows, how it grows beside a rock or beside a tree, and how the side facing the sun is usually green while the side facing the shade is white. Then they will enter Paradise whereupon the people of Paradise will say, “These are the people emancipated by the Beneficent.”
