  2. TITLE Noise Pollution Monitoring and Assessment of Various Sources and Likelihood Nuisance – Dwellings, Hospital, University, Urban Corridors, Construction Areas, Traffics, Parks and Industries • 1O major locations • University areas • Dwellings • Traffic • Urban corridors • Night market • Park • Hospital • Construction • Industries

  3. EVALUATIONS 10% of total marks (from coursework) Assessment tools • PO2 – Report marks • PO3 – Report marks • PO9 – peer evaluation (rubric)

  4. OBJECTIVES – CO2 & CO3 There several objectives that should be highlighted by the students, which are: • To determine the noise level in selected sources (LAeq, LDN) – morning, afternoon, night, weekdays, weekend, spatial • To collect data, make a comparison and analysis on noise level by referring to OSHA standard or Factories and Machinery Act, ISO 9613-2:1996, and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. • To give recommendation for the improvement based on the problem encountered.

  5. SCOPE OF WORKS • Determination of : • Demographic, geographic locations and meteorological aspects, others (i.e: numbers of contributing sources; vehicles) • Sampling locations for noise pollution monitoring (at least 3 points) • Sampling schemes (i.e: For each sampling location, noise measurements were carried out continuously for the period of ten days with seven hours of monitoring per day with a gap of one hour after every hour of reading. For each hour, the noise levels were recorded after every two minutes (i.e. 30 readings were recorded every hour.) • Detail sampling schedule (i.e: morning 10.00-11.00 a.m., afternoon 12.00-1.00 p.m., 2.00-3.00 p.m., evening 4.00-5.00 p.m., 6.00-7.00 p.m., 8.00-9.00 p.m. and night 10.00-11.00 p.m.) • Readings can be repeated (i.e: after 30 days of sampling)

  6. SCOPE OF WORKS • Analysis: • Statistical analyses • Calculation of Leq, L10, L30 & L50
