Applicants must be first or co-authors of abstracts submitted for oral or poster presentation. Application forms can be found on the BAS and BSCR websites. The deadline for bursary applications is Friday 6 February 2009. Priority for award will be given to students whose abstracts are accepted for presentation. PRIZES FOR ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS: Both Societies traditionally award prizes for the best oral presentations by young investigators (the BAS Michael Davies Young Investigator Award is supported by a grant from the British Heart Foundation). We shall continue this tradition at the meeting and award these prizes to the two best oral presentations in the Young Investigator session on Thursday afternoon. Pre-doctoral student and postdoctoral investigators under the age of 30 from both Societies will be eligible for consideration. When submitting abstracts, please do not forget to state if the first author wishes to be considered for a Young Investigator Award. Both prizes, which are considered equal in stature, will be presented to the winning abstract authors at dinner on Thursday evening. The Young Investigator Award presentation finalists are invited to attend the dinner on Thursday as complimentary guests of the two societies.
