Lessons Learned • Violent crime at school has been decreasing over time.

Lessons Learned • Incidents like Columbine and Sandy Hook garner the most public attention, but should not be the sole consideration when developing safety plans.
Lessons Learned • We know what needs to be done, but may not always have the time, resources or training to fully execute.
Lessons Learned • School safety planning must be an ongoing community process.
