Standards • Park Acres per 1000 residents The Recreation, Park and Open Space Standards and Guidelines, published by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) provide park space standards widely adopted by cities across the country. NRPA recommends a park range from 11 to 20 acres per thousand residents.
