  2. FOCUS 1 A & 4 E’s Awareness • knowledge among marginalised  juvenile offenders, regarding HIV/AIDS,  and their related rights and entitlements. Equity • Increased in access to and uptake of quality HIV/AIDS services – counselling and education. Empowerment • Increased sense of self-worth and participation amongst people living with HIV and AIDS Enablement • Improving the environment, through collaborative advocacy to sexual and reproductive health, and reduce stigma and discrimination. Effectiveness • Organisational and Technical - Moyo Aids foundation role as designated district policy and framework as part of  society co-ordinating network in HIV/AIDS at the decentralised district level

HIV AND AIDS - TARGET GROUP: • integrity of the communities and effects family life silent about the painful and difficult questions concerning HIV and AIDS. • stigmatization and discrimination of people living with HIV and AIDS, and; questions of sin, guilt, shame, suffering, human rights; and those intending to enter marriage life. MOYO AIDS FOUNDATION OFFICE • spread of new infectious diseases and malaria which are some of the challenging diseases STATISTICS • estimated national adult prevalence rate of 12 % with 22.8% in the urban areas and 14.5% in the rural areas. • Out of 790,000 infected adults amongst them are married couples and singles aged 15 to 49, 58% were women. • total orphans that lost both parents are 5,636 who lost single parents are 15,267 either mother or father

  4. SESSIONS Weekly group sessions by volunteers of Moyo Foundation Awareness - on family planning methods, counseling and training of infected and affected families in prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, provision of psychological support to families that are keeping orphans and other vulnerable children. Women receiving counseling sessions on family planning and under five clinics After sessions – provided with both long and short term methods of the District Hospital family planning services. Outcome: reducing the maternal deaths and good progress monitoring the interventions.

  5. CHILDREN Feeding - undertaken when food is available especially in harvesting months. Support - collaboratively undertaken with support from their guardians and other well wishers. Community volunteers during feeding session with children at one of the centers

ORPHANS Support – Orphans are given food at a feeding center daily facilitated by volunteers of Moyo AIDS Foundation The cups around this child’s neck are joined together with a string and put around his neck to take home. The cups are filled with porridge, one cup for breakfast and one cup for dinner. The string is attached to prevent the porridge from spilling. One of the orphans that are nursed by Volunteers

CAPACITY BUILDING Assessment - children are kept in houses without sending them to a community child care center where some orphans and other vulnerable children are nursed, this is happening because of illiteracy level of the communities. Outcome - Children are encouraged through dancing, singing cultural songs and drama group performances that are carried out by community members and organizational staff.   8. OUTREACH WORK Staff conduct door to door visit to assess orphans, vulnerable children and households capacity. Vulnerable children from Mbewa Village with Members of Moyo Aids Foundation

  9. Moyo Academy Schools • Currently are registered 193 orphans and other vulnerable children. • Communities too contribute in kind some food stuff to support those living with Hiv/aids, elderly and other disability groups.
