  3. Myth from 1865. Hans Brinker: He’s 8 years old. An old blind man. He brings pancakes. He notices the water is rising. On his way back… He hears the water. A hole in the wall. And puts his finger in the dike. He stands there all night long. It’s very cold, because it’s winter. He yells, but no one hears him. In the morning... The pastor sees him standing with his finger in the wall. Realises Hans has saved the villagers from a huge disaster. Even now, there are many statues from this event.

Music: Krezip • Singer: Jacqueline Govaert (went solo after the band broke up)Guitar: Anne GovaertGuitar: Thomas Holthuis -> replaced by Jan Peter Hoekstra (2004)     Bass: Joost van Haaren Keyboard: Annelies KuijstersDrums: Thijs Romeijn  -> replaced by Bram van den Berg (2005)  • Krezip was formed in 1997 • they played on various festivals with the demo’s they had • 2000: Record deal with Warner Music, release of their debut album ‘Nothing Less’ which resulted in big #1 hit with the song ‘I Would Stay’ • 2002-2003: Krezip released their 2nd album ‘Days Like This’ but this album didn’t do so well in the charts • 2003: Thomas left the band (Jan Peter took his place) and Krezip was let go by Warner Music the year after that • 2005: 3rd album ‘What Are You Waiting For?’ also became a hit! • The song ‘Same Mistake’ was used in the movie Schnitzel Paradise • Due to issues, the band continued without Thijs (Bram took his place) • 2007: Krezip’s last studio album ‘Plug It In’ was released along with 3 singles • To celebrate the bands 10th anniversary, they held a special concert • 2008: An important announcement and the release of a Best Of-album with 3 new songs • Special goodbye concert + the CD/DVD Sweet Goodbye

  5. Recipe: appelflappen Ingredients • 12 slices puff pastry • 2 Goudreinetten (apples) • 4 tablespoons currants • 2 tablespoons raisins • 2 teaspoons cinnamon • 4 tablespoons sugar • A cup of water

  6. preparation • Thaw the puff pastry • Preheat the oven at 200 °C • Peel the apples, remove the core and cut it into cubes. • Mix the apple pieces with the currants, raisins, cinnamon and half of the sugar. • Lay on every slice of puff pastry a mix of the apple stuff. • Fold each slice diagonal, so it looks like a triangle. • Make the edges of each slice wet with waterand pressure it with a fork. • Make the top also wet and put it on the griddle. • Sprinkle some sugar over it. • 15 tot 20 minutes in the oven… • And finish!

  7. Recipe: appeltaart Dough • 300 gram self-rising flour • 200 gram cold butter • 160 gram caster sugar • A bag of vanilla sugar • A beaten egg • A little salt

  8. Stuffing: • 1 kilogram hard sour apples • 1 spoon lemon juice • 15 gram sugar • 2 teaspoons cinnamon • 60 gram raisins

  9. Preparation: • First preheat your oven to 175 degrees. • Step 1. Take a sealable mixing bowl. Cut with 2 knifes the butter through the self-rising flour, the caster sugar, vanilla sugar and the salt. Then rub the butter with your fingers until the mix is crumbly. Add ¾ of the egg. Put the dough packed in the refrigerator. • Step 2. Peel and slice the apples and rub them in with the lemon juice. Sprinkle the apple pieces with the cinnamon, the sugar and the raisins. Place a lid over the bowl and toss the apples. • Step 3. Make of 2/5 of the dough the pie crust. Save some for the upper layer. • Step 4. Put the apple filling in the pie plate. Roll out of the rest of the dough and place them over the top. Cover the dough strips with egg. You are now ready to slide the pie into the oven to bake 70 minutes. • Step 5. Let the pie cool for at least five to ten minutes before serving. If you want to you can serve with whipped cream.
