Nursing in different health care settings Perttunen & Palovaara 2008 Perioperative and day surgery nursing 1,5ects: Objectives • The students will be familiarized with perioperative (surgery and anaesthetic nursing), day surgery nursing, central nursing interventions, and the implementation of aseptics. • The students will be familiarized with the central methods and devices used in perioperative nursing, and their use. • The students will internalise the basics of pain treatment and the methods used in it. • They will understand the importance of the encounter, guidance, and support of surgery patients, as well as the significance of multi-professional work in the holistic treatment of patients.
