In the word equation, you name all the compounds, with the coefficient as the number of molecules. The physical state, is given by the letter in parenthesis, and the word react, is used as well as produce or yield to indicate the reaction arrow. TIP* In order to know the names of the compounds, look for the name of at least one of the elements in the compound, and if it’s a reactant of product.
