  2. Scene i • Lady Macbeth sleepwalking • Taper – candle • Rubbing spot of blood on her hands • “Out damn spot! Out I say!” • Makes references to Duncan, Banquo and Macduff’s wife’s murders • The doctor claims that she needs spiritual help not physical

  3. Scene ii • Soldiers marching towards Birnam

  4. Scene iii • Macbeth thinks that nothing can happen to him • Seyton – armorer (helps put on armor) • He realizes that he is going to die • “I’ll fight, till from my bones my flesh be hacked” • His wife has become an afterthought (asks the doctor to cure her)

  5. Scene iv • Malcolm comes up with idea to camouflage the army • War is going to begin

  6. Scene v • Lady Macbeth died • “Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day!” Macbeth • Lady Macbeth would die at some point • Each day we grow closer to death so what is the point of life • Messenger informs them that the woods are moving • He hopes to die, tired of fighting, nothing to live for

  7. Scene vi • Dunsinane – army dressed in boughs

  8. Scene vii • Macbeth kills Young Siward

  9. Scene viii • Macduff ready to fight for revenge • Macbeth doesn’t want to kill another man • Macduff was a c-section baby • “Lay on Macduff; And damned be him that first cries ‘Hold, enough!’” – Macbeth • Siward says that he is happy his son had a noble death • Macolm new king – makes Thanes Earls
