Password Recovery Process • Must have a console connection • Steps: • Reboot the system- Do not hit the spacebar at the first prompt!! • Look for “Loading /boot/defaults/loader.conf” then • Press the Spacebar (if you wait for the prompt- it will be too late) • loader> watchdog disable • loader> boot –s (to access single user mode) • Enter recoverywhen prompted to go into recovery mode /bin/sh: recovery • Enter “edit” >Set root password set system root-authentication plain-text-password • Commit the change and exit configuration mode—reboot
