He became interested in physics • When he was a sophomore in college • He worked during summer at Furman’s biology camp • He began studying microwave physics
Appointed Provost and Professor of Physics at M.I.T. • in 1966 he became Institute Professor at M.I.T. • same year resigned from the position of Provost • He wanted to do more research
Teaching Assignments • Appointed University Professor at the UC in 1967 • He does teaching, researching and other activities • National Lecturer for Sigma Xi • Taught during summer sessions at University of Michigan
